A short menu, changed often.

Things move around as the seasons do. The list below is what's on this week. The kitchen closes at three; coffee goes on until close.

Coffee

Single-origin beans from independent roasters, rotated every six weeks. Espresso pulled on a La Marzocco Linea; filter brewed on a Marco Beverage SP9.

    Double shot, our house blend. Notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar, dried orange peel.

  • Cortado

    Equal parts espresso and warm milk, in a Gibraltar glass.

  • Flat white

    £3.50

    Double ristretto under steamed milk, free-poured.

  • Filter coffee

    £3.80

    Ask the barista what's on today. V60 or batch brew, your choice.

  • Espresso tonic seasonal

    £4.20

    Espresso over tonic water and ice, with a citrus twist. Summer-only.

  • Hot chocolate

    £4.00

    Single-origin Madagascan, ganache-style. Steamed milk added to taste.

From the kitchen

Small kitchen, short menu, changed weekly. Everything from-scratch. Bread is sourdough from our friends at Hill Top Bakery in Caversham.

  • Pressed sourdough, salted butter vg

    £4.50

    Cultured Jersey butter, Maldon sea salt. The simple option.

  • Mushrooms on toast vg

    £8.50

    Wild mushrooms, garlic, thyme, lemon, on grilled sourdough. With a poached egg if you'd like (+£1.50).

  • Smoked salmon brunch

    £12.00

    Cold-smoked salmon, soft scrambled eggs, dill crème fraîche, cucumber pickle, brown sourdough.

  • Shakshuka v

    £10.50

    Two baked eggs in spiced tomato and pepper sauce, feta, fresh herbs, sourdough to scoop.

  • Cornerstone toastie v

    Aged Cheddar, leek, mustard, a hint of thyme, pressed in our cast-iron press.

  • Granola bowl v

    £7.50

    Our oat-and-honey granola, Greek yoghurt, seasonal fruit, a swirl of local honey.

Sweet things

Baked in the morning, on the counter by ten. Whatever's left goes home half-price after four.

  • Cardamom bun v

    Plaited brioche, cardamom-spiced butter, pearl sugar. The reason most people come back.

  • Sourdough doughnut v

    24-hour slow ferment. Filled with seasonal jam (currently rhubarb and ginger).

  • Brown butter chocolate cookie v

    Crisp at the edges, soft in the middle, Valrhona chocolate. The grown-up version.

  • Olive oil cake gf

    Lemon, almond, olive oil. Naturally gluten-free.
